Natural rabbit food: hay should always be the foundation

A rabbit’s diet should be based primarily on good-quality hay available at all times.

Hay provides fibre and requires prolonged chewing, making it an essential part of a rabbit’s daily diet.

Once this foundation is established, other complementary foods can be introduced appropriately, such as plants, leaves, flowers, dehydrated vegetables and small natural treats, adding a wider variety of aromas, textures and flavours.

1. Fescue hay and hay tunnel: Ribero fescue hay provides fibre, aroma and texture and encourages prolonged chewing. The hay tunnel also turns feeding time into an activity of exploration and foraging, helping to provide environmental enrichment.

Hay should always remain freely available.

2. Green Nature Rabbit: A 100% natural blend made with 80% different hays, 15% plants and flowers, 3% vegetables and 2% cereals. Green Nature Rabbit provides a wide range of ingredients, aromas and textures, with no additives, colourings or preservatives.

3. COAD Diuretic: A combination of selected plants designed to complement the diet and support urinary wellbeing. It should be offered as a complementary food. If your rabbit shows urinary symptoms, pain, significant changes in urine or suspected urinary stones, consult a veterinarian experienced in exotic pets.

4. Flower salad: A blend of natural flowers that adds aroma, colour and variety. You can scatter a small amount through the hay to stimulate your rabbit’s sense of smell and encourage natural foraging behaviour.

5. Dandelion root: Its firm texture makes it an interesting complementary food for chewing, exploring and keeping your rabbit occupied. It can be offered in small amounts as part of a diet based mainly on hay.

6. Pear twig: A natural chew item that encourages exploration and chewing while contributing to the natural wear of the teeth.
