The Healthy Junior Buffet for rabbits and rodents combines two types of hay with different characteristics:
Fescue hay: Fescue is a fibre-rich grass that encourages prolonged chewing. In addition, offering good-quality hay helps maintain a fibre-rich diet and supports the natural chewing behaviour of rabbits and other small herbivores.
Alfalfa hay: Alfalfa is a legume with a different nutritional profile from grass hays and is particularly notable for its protein and mineral content. For this reason, it is often used during certain stages when nutritional requirements are higher, such as growth. Once this stage is over, the quantity and type of forage should be adapted to the animal’s individual needs.

Healthy Junior includes a blend of hazelnut, raspberry and mulberry leaves.
Dried leaves provide different aromas, flavours and textures. Therefore, they can be offered as a dietary complement or mixed with hay to encourage exploration.
Vetch
Vetch is a legume traditionally used as forage. Its aroma, texture and nutritional characteristics make it a different option to introduce into the complementary diet of small herbivores.
Dandelion
Dandelion is one of the best-known plants used in the complementary feeding of rabbits and small rodents. As well as providing plant variety, its aroma and texture make it suitable for mixing with hay or using in food-searching activities.
Pellets: ALFALFA and SPINACH

How to offer the Healthy Junior Buffet?
The contents of the buffet should be used as a complement to a diet adapted to the animal’s species and age.
Suitable hay should always be available in sufficient quantities. In addition, plants, leaves, flowers, dehydrated vegetables and pellets should be offered in moderate amounts as part of a balanced diet.
When introducing a new ingredient, do so gradually and always observe how well it is tolerated.
Also remember to keep clean, fresh water available at all times.
Remember: it is also food enrichment
Feeding does not have to be limited to simply placing food in a bowl. Rabbits and other small animals naturally spend part of their time exploring, sniffing, selecting and searching for food.
