The Ribero Chinchilla Buffet is a natural-tasting assortment. It combines fescue hay, plants, flowers, leaves, dehydrated vegetables, steam-made pellets and natural chew items.
Inside, you will find 13 different products. They are designed to add variety to your chinchilla’s complementary diet.
They also help stimulate curiosity and encourage natural behaviours such as sniffing, exploring, foraging and chewing.
Chinchilla food: hay should be the foundation
A chinchilla’s diet should be based mainly on good-quality hay available at all times. Clean, fresh water should also always be available.
Hay provides fibre and requires prolonged chewing. Therefore, it plays an important role in both digestive function and natural dental wear.
Chinchillas also have a particularly sensitive digestive system. For this reason, new foods should always be introduced gradually and in small amounts.
Once a good hay base is established, you can offer plants, leaves, flowers and small natural treats as complementary foods.

What does the Ribero Chinchilla Buffet contain?
1. Fescue hay and hay tunnel: Ribero fescue hay provides fibre, aroma and a texture that encourages prolonged chewing. The hay tunnel also turns feeding time into an activity of exploration and foraging. This helps provide environmental enrichment.
Hay should always remain freely available.
2. Green Nature Chinchilla: A 100% natural blend made with: 83% different hays, 1.5% plants and flowers, 14% vegetables and fruits et 1.5% cereals. Green Nature Chinchilla provides a variety of natural aromas, flavours and textures. It contains no additives, colourings or preservatives.
3. COAD Digestive: Chinchillas have a delicate digestive system. COAD Digestive combines selected plants to complement their diet and support digestive wellbeing. It should be introduced gradually and used as a complementary food.
If you notice diarrhoea, loss of appetite, abdominal swelling, changes in droppings or lethargy, consult a veterinarian experienced in exotic pets.
4. Flower salad: A blend of natural flowers that adds aroma, colour and variety. You can scatter a small amount through the hay. This helps stimulate smell, spark curiosity and encourage natural foraging.
5. Burdock root: Its firm texture provides a natural option for chewing, exploring and keeping your chinchilla occupied. It can be offered in small amounts as part of a balanced diet based mainly on hay.
6. Apple twig: A natural item designed for chewing and exploration. Its texture encourages chewing and contributes to natural dental wear, as chinchilla teeth grow continuously.
7. Red berry leaves: A blend of strawberry, raspberry, cherry and mulberry leaves. These leaves provide different plant aromas and textures.
They can be offered occasionally on their own or mixed with hay.
8. Garden vegetable salad: A selection of dehydrated vegetables that provides different aromas, flavours and textures in small portions. Because chinchillas have a sensitive digestive system, it should be offered occasionally and in moderate amounts. It should also always be introduced gradually.
9. Dandelion: Dandelion provides fibre, aroma and plant variety. It can be mixed with regular hay and offered as part of the complementary diet.
10. Beetroot pellets: These pellets are made using steam to preserve the natural aroma and characteristics of beetroot. Because beetroot has a naturally sweet taste, the pellets should be offered occasionally and in small amounts.
11. Green oat pellets: Made from green oats using steam, these pellets provide fibre, aroma and a different texture. They can be offered as complementary food during moulting periods, as part of a balanced diet based mainly on hay.
They do not replace veterinary assessment if you notice abnormal hair loss, bald patches or skin problems.
12. Echinacea leaves: Echinacea leaves provide an intense plant aroma and add new sensory experiences to the feeding area. They should be offered occasionally and in small amounts. You can also sprinkle a little through the hay to encourage foraging.
13. Carob: Carob has an intense aroma and a naturally sweet taste. It should be offered occasionally and in very small amounts, as a treat within a balanced diet.

Feeding does not have to mean simply placing food in a bowl.
Chinchillas also enjoy exploring, sniffing, searching for food and chewing.
